Artek is an international children’s center located on the Black Sea coast in Crimea. It was founded in 1925 and since then has served as a place for recreation and development of children aged 9 to 17. Artek is not only a place for traditional seaside recreation, but also a unique education: children are given the opportunity to learn about other countries and cultures, participate in scientific and workshop programs, spend time in natural oases, and play sports and other entertainment. On the territory of Artek, children can study at a school where they have the opportunity to study various languages. All this makes Artek one of the most popular holiday destinations for children in Russia.
During its existence, Artek acquired many traditions that continue to exist to this day:
- Rest and health are the main values. Artek was created not only for entertainment, but also for strengthening the health of children. Every day, children do physical exercises, visit the swimming pool and massage room.
