Radio Magazine

“Radio Magazine” was founded in 1924 and became the first technical magazine in the USSR devoted to radio communications and broadcasting. Its pages published scientific articles, technical news, instructions for receiving and transmitting radio signals, as well as materials on the organization of radio broadcasting and television.

In the 1930s, the magazine became the technical organ of the People’s Commissariat of Communications of the USSR and was renamed “Journal of Telegraphy and Communications”. The magazine continued to be published throughout the existence of the USSR and became one of the main sources of information for radio amateurs, engineers and scientists working in the field of radio communications and broadcasting.

In the post-war years, the magazine began to be published in large print runs and was known for its scientific articles on radio engineering and television, as well as materials on the latest achievements in the field of electronics.

The coolest DIY I made from this magazine is the Orion-128 computer. We had a whole team of Orion enthusiasts in our city. Each had their own computer. We developed software both independently and bought it together. We developed peripherals ourselves. In general, we had fun.

After the collapse of the USSR, the magazine underwent several renamings and circulation reductions, but continues to be published to this day. Currently, “Radio Magazine” is the leading publication in the field of electronics and radio engineering in Russia.
