Ice cream and soda whenever you want

In the USSR, ice cream and soda were always available everywhere. In every store, on every corner, you could find an ice cream kiosk or a soda machine. People loved these drinks and often bought them in large quantities.

There were different types and varieties of ice cream in the USSR. The most popular was plombir in a cup. It was very tasty and tender. There were also popsicles on a stick, which everyone loved.

In the USSR, people often bought soda from vending machines. The most interesting thing is that the cup in the machine was shared. You just rinsed it in a special fountain – and you could drink. Nobody bothered with hygiene and sanitation.

However, despite the availability of these drinks, they were not always available to everyone. Some people lived in small towns or villages where there were no soda machines. Now you can buy any soda either in plastic or in an aluminum can. In the USSR, only in glass in the store, on tap in a machine or from a siphon at home. Special bars were sold to make soda at home. And what jam to add there is a matter of taste.

Nowadays, soda and ice cream don’t seem like such a big deal. But back then, as a child, there was a slightly different attitude towards them.
