Soviet furniture was known for its strength and durability. It was often made of natural materials such as wood and metal. The cumulative historical experience of furniture production made it high-quality and functional.
In the USSR, there were several types of furniture that could be found in all homes: beds, wardrobes, chests of drawers, tables and chairs. Pine and oak furniture were also popular, as they were affordable and cheap.

In the middle of the 20th century, modifications of old styles prevailed. This was due to the economic policy in the country, which did not allow the creation of new, “extra” items due to difficulties in the material sense. Some items, such as wardrobes, beds and chests of drawers had a characteristic Soviet style: simplicity of design, clarity of lines and durability.
In the 1980s, a new fashion for more ergonomic furniture began to form, and new materials such as plastic and fabrics of new colors and shades appeared. In modern society, much of the above style can be found in antique markets and by true explorers.
