Trolleybus

Trolleybuses of the USSR were very popular during the Soviet period, they were one of the most common types of urban transport. The first trolleybus was introduced in the USSR in 1933 by Ivan Sysoev and was put into operation in Leningrad, since then trolleybuses have become very popular and began to be mass-produced in many cities of the USSR. Trolleybuses in the USSR were one of the most environmentally friendly types of transport and continue to be used in some cities to this day, despite the emergence of other types of municipal transport.

Moscow trolleybus

The Moscow trolleybus is a part of the Moscow tram and trolleybus transport system, which began to develop in the 1930s. The first trolleybus route in Moscow was launched in 1933, and subsequently the Moscow trolleybus network expanded more and more. Today, the Moscow trolleybus is a network of 48 routes that run throughout the city and neighboring regions. During peak hours, Moscow trolleybuses are one of the most popular and widely used modes of transport in the city. Many Muscovites prefer the Moscow trolleybus to other modes of transport because of its environmental friendliness and convenience, as well as because this mode of transport does not depend on traffic jams.

Leningrad trolleybus

The Leningrad Trolleybus is a system of urban passenger transport in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), which began to develop in 1936. The first trolleybus route was opened in Leningrad in 1936, then the route network gradually expanded. The most famous and typical type of trolleybus for Leningrad were the LiK trolleybuses, which appeared in the 1950s. These were trolleybuses with iron bodies that could accommodate a large number of people. Today, the Leningrad Trolleybus is an integral part of urban transport in St. Petersburg. Currently, the network of Leningrad trolleybuses is quite extensive and is in active operation.
